i forgot to wrap the pillow up in an old towel last night. the pillowcase came out of the experience [my sleeping on it, that is] with red and orange marks all over it. if i wipe along my hairline and my ears with a tissue, the tissue comes out looking much the same.

but! my hair is VERY red!

::hmmmmm::

the thanksgiving potluck today. 'food is good,' said cute gay enrique. i didn't have the heart to contradict him. but i feel obligated to go because i'll probably see my babies.

today was a stab things with rusty spoons day at church. i slept through part of the service, luckily, but i couldn't quite avoid the lunch-table conversation with The Guy Who Went to Finland Even Though He Didn't Deserve To and his child, who was busy trying to make enough of a mess to entirely destroy the sanctuary and very nearly succeeded.

ron: katie. katie, sweetie, what are you doing? hey deb?
[crash]
ron: katie, honey, come sit down.
woman: [grabs katie and tries to wipe stickiness off her]
katie: [twists away]
ron: i think she prefers being sticky! thanks, though!
woman: [wipes up the floor with a paper napkin]

in other news, i came home and couldn't seem to think of anything i'd rather have done than sleep, barring the internet, but after lillian relinquished the phone line my mother claimed Ze Dinosaur on which to write lesson plans. and i slept from, oh, 1:30 till 4:30, essentially. hm. sleep all day *and* all night! it's the new black.

that line from dar williams, you know,

'we burnt our beds and books' and something about losing the fire?

that line is cool.

also: how DARE it be supper time. i can smell cooked oil from here. bleah. if anyone around the world wants to squint, they can probably detect my hair. just make sure you're looking towards alabama. yes, it really is that bright. like WHOA.

so finally, today,

we had an 'early channukah' and opened the extended dvd. the council scene with sarah michelle gellar, the trailer, and the tolkien, costuming, and designing middle earth documentaries were all watched. mommy slept through bits and pieces and daddy and lillian were in and out of the room, but i watched it *all.* the sketchbooks! the glorious sculptures! the costumes!

i'm going to expire of geekiness.

thank you and goodnight.

insert dramtic music

everyone needs a little soap opera now and then.

i need nenya. how much money could the lotr people make if they'd make non-sterling versions of the movie jewelry that they could sell for less? ::grmph:: fuck classiness. i want nenya! so much more uber-geek-value than the one ring.
