they come in puppies?, MISSION: ice skates pt 2, sick
An employee at my work practice placement is on a waiting list for a yorkie puppy. I was like "o_O They come in puppies! WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT BEFORE?" Then I googled that and they're as hilarious as you might imagine and possibly even tinier. I posted a couple on Tumblr.
Was also advised by several others to try thrift shops and Citymarket or Prisma if those don't pan out for ice skates. Ice skate sale season is in spring and it won't do to wait that long. I spent all of Friday afternoon trying to chivvy Wax out the door, but we still missed the window when the thrift shops are open and only picked up a package from the post office, which turned out to be a small decorative wall quilt featuring our babies. We both Tweeted it.
Woke up Friday with a mild sore throat that neither worsened nor went away over the course of the day. This led me to assume an allergic reaction, not a cold coming on, because they usually come faster... but then I woke up Saturday sick, which explains why Friday evening I was struck first by intense resentment towards the entire world but especially the bits right in front of me, and then by what looked like the logically inescapable conclusion that I'm an utter failure of evolution who's accomplished nothing at all in my lifetime. So Saturday's illness shed an explanatory light on these feelings, which couldn't be caused by PMS due to scheduling conflicts. Now am quite busy being miserable with what seems like a mild but persistent cold, as two days later my sinuses haven't yet filled with toxic goo, but I still feel like a sad overcooked french fry and my throat still hurts in spite of all efforts (but not as badly as past perfume-related allergic reactions, so I guess that should've been a clue).
