It's really only the clothes that are gothy. Their music takes a lot of influence from older metal ("And Morrissey! Of course!"). Rock is an umbrella genre which really includes all metal, as well as dudes who sit around with an acoustic guitar and some drums and Panic!'s done Warped, so those don't really say much of anything at all.
