i spent viewing #3 mostly trying to knit the screen time together with book canon, to make one cohesive canon in my head--the one my fanfic takes place in, of course. i have a nice legolas/gimli bunny gestating which got some further development in this viewing. last time i was all pissed off by the undercurrents between aragorn and legolas, but i think i'm being too nervous. there's clearly something there, but it doesn't have to mean legolas is in love with aragorn. when i stop looking at it defensively, it works for me.

i'm liking the movie more each time. and i like it better than fotr. not that i don't like fotr, but my tolerance for it is lower. can stand to watch it fewer times and such.

'm not getting tired of this yet--and i think that in all cases except faramir, movie characterization grows out of book characterization, simply elaboration on a level tolkien didn't touch, not actual disagreement.

as for faramir, well, my mental canon is starting to try to make sense of him, but it's tough going. maybe beating up [livejournal.com profile] ferretmir a little will make me feel a bit better.

*giggles* I'm sticking to my Leggy/Aragorn and you can't stop me! Then again, I am possibly the only person who liked Faramir the first I saw it so, freak, yes.
