help wanted! :p

--of the plot bunny variety.

eager, puppyish, underweight college student seeks inspiration for smutty domlijah goodness. all plot bunny body parts accepted, even the putrescent ones--i just read frankenstein, after all, much to my dismay!

someone? throw me random snippets of ideas? i have a core of an idea, but i need to figure out (a) why lijah is so eager to get dom's attention, other than dom's cuteness. i mean, why would dom not be paying attention to him? (b) what kinds of curse words does lij use in everyday conversation? stuff like that. um. help? and. what kinds of drinking games do they play? anyone? [livejournal.com profile] ally_star? <--pitifully sheltered. people play chess as a drinking game at my school.

[edit: what is it about a beta that never fails to make my day? if only she had im and no life... *pout*]

Drinking games. (http://www.hull.ac.uk/php/ssago/beer.html) I'm partial to Zoom, Schwartz, Pfigliano, and am convinced they have spelled it wrong on this page. I, when
a drunk teenager, had an uncanny ability to hear how a word should be spelled. The game sounds complicated but is very simple, and involves a lot of sexy eye contact--see, it's what you say with your eyes that's important more than what you say with your words. Or at least it was sexy when I was a drunk teen.

Hmm, or maybe I was just kinda easy.

Thumper, while childish, is tons of fun.

and then there's the always-reliable Quarters. Surely you know what Quarters is?

IM me if you want more random domlijah bunnies. swisscheeseomlet.

You know, I have no idea what Quarters is and I've heard it mentioned in songs and stuff. Enlighten me? Please?

[identity profile] buffett.livejournal.com 2002-03-20 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Quarters. (http://www.geocities.com/eattheworm_2000/games/quarters.htm)

basically, you sit around a table with your buddies bounce a quarter off a hard table into a cup full of beer. If you get it in, you make someone drink. If you miss, you pass the cup. If you take a chance and try again after missing, you drink the cupful. If you hit the rim, you bounce again.

Extra style points for rolling it off your nose before it bounces off the table. Never mastered that one.

Fuck, did I play more of these than your average joe?

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
hahahahaha. i think so.

[identity profile] andraste-oz.livejournal.com 2002-03-20 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
ok, random bunniness... let's see...

Dom doesn't pay attention to Lij because Lij is a golden child - he's mega-talented, has roles being flung at him from all directions, is adorably cute, the world *seems* to be his oyster. Dom has no work at the moment (does he? anyone know?) and is feeling a bit out of place. Maybe he misses the UK and feels at a loose end while Lijah's off filming and stuff. It makes him shirty. He feels like he has no real place in Lij's life, he wants to prove himself in his own right in the US rather than just an add-on to Elijah, leading to him spending less time concentrating on lij. major angst ensues.

swear words... I've heard him go 'Bloody hell!' in english/aus/nz style/. And there's always 'cunt' and all the other stuff he mentioned in all the Arena interview...

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2002-03-20 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
thanks! ;)

that sounds mostly like they have an already-established relationship. which is not my intent. but maybe i can twist it around properly? hm. lij is busy and... disconnected-ness. he feels, incorrectly, that it is necessary to seduce dom. maybe even subconsciously.

uh-oh. nuances of british speech! gah. this story is going to need beta'd.

[identity profile] andraste-oz.livejournal.com 2002-03-20 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
ok, how about...

Lij was obviously so enamoured of the whole British thing, with taking on the slang and talking about the 'English culture' on Letterman... maybe Dom is the personification of all that cool tough britboy thing he wants to be a part of?

BTW, is this going to be an NZ fic or a post NZ fic?

I can beta if you want and if you don't have anyone :)
(never done it before, but hell, I've got an MA in english and a crapload of British mates, I should be OK. And plus, I love your fic)

maybe Dom is the personification of all that cool tough britboy thing he wants to be a part of

as a wannabe brit myself, I'd definitely read that one.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
an MA! ahha, you're old.

however: it's post-NZ mostly, but perhaps not entirely, the way the bunny is currently shaped. hm. i guess i'll need one for britishisms if nothing else in this instance. usually don't bother except for my star trek stories. mmm, i don't really make mechanical mistakes, at least, not by accident. other than typos.

[identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
<-- BRITISH! wooooooo!!! would happily beta for britishsoundingness, if you have no one else......

[identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
and what-ho i am awfully british ...

*smirkles*

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
i think i'll just flirt with you. real people are so wearying.

[identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
and that will help your story how exactly??? ^___^

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
by entertaining me. silly!

[identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2002-03-21 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
oh right! flirt away then. by all means.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2002-03-23 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)

I have *no* idea what made you connect drinking games and me! But seeing as I'm here...

1. Ice cube game, but this is kind of lame. Plus, I've already done it to death.

2. Fuzzy duck. You get drunk, then go round the circle, each person saying "fuzzy duck" once, until someone says "does he?" The correct answer is "ducky fuzz", and it carries on, with people occasionally saying "does he?" Of course, you're slaughtered, so all tongue tied and say "duzzy fuck". If you do this, you have to drink more. Rude words! Much hilarity!

3. I Have Never. My personal favourite. Each person takes turns to to say something e.g. "I Have Never... fucked in my parents bed." If you really have never done that, you don't have to drink. If you have (minx!) you have to stand up and take a shot.

4. Honey, Do You Love Me? Good for sexual tension and the like. One person is It and they have to choose a person to torture. Basically, the first person has to "seduce" the other, saying "honey, smile if you love me." The way to avoid drinking is to keep a straight face and reply "honey, I love you but I just can't smile." It rarely works. If you smile/laugh you have to have a drink and you're It.

I will think of more, sweetie.

Ally

2 comments on the drinking games.

1) Monopoly is a really, really bad drinking game. Money (not to mention small pewter dogs) ends up in places it should never be.

2) Jenga, on the other hand, is a v. fun one, esp. if there are things written on the blocks that you have to do once you remove them.
