you know, i didn't think i had that sort of grip, and then i was eating dinner last night, and the first couple of paragraphs of gary's part came to me pretty much word-for-word like that, in that voice. and then i was thinking, that's not a very long monologue, when i finish it. it needs tim in the first person to balance it out, i can do something else with the number two, and when i thought *that,* all of a sudden, that thing about two ways to slice things, and whether he's ever wanted anyone but his wife, came to me pretty much like *that.*

i guess my subconscious is more confident with character voice than i am. :>

i've been meaning to ask you if you could beta the remix fic i write. it's not done yet or anything. actually, it's still planned, not even drafted. but. ahem. i know i will want a beta.
