of tv and movies and the creative drive to remake the universe according to one's own preference

AUGH! WHAT? I MISSED FOUR HOURS OF STAR TREK I DON'T HAVE ON TAPE ALREADY TODAY!

and apparently stargate has stopped running weeknights at midnight. instead is ::cough::crossing over with john edward::cough::. dammit!

oh, but. how to lose a guy... was not nearly as good as it looked. two weeks notice i expected to suck, frankly (but watched anyway for hugh grant) and it didn't. i was quite pleasantly surprised. i'm going to buy it if they still have it at blockbuster. some of the dialogue was worthy of georgette heyer.

i feel imperious like jim kirk, ready to rearrange the universe according to my preference. and it's the middle of the night, but i'm not sleepy! i'll curl up and read dominion.

in other news, the award for comment of the day goes to [livejournal.com profile] kwirbx. everyone's ex should be this amusing.

no matter what we may go through

before i started reading my friendslist, i felt up to doing errands. now i don't. >.>

i'm adding another point to the evidence-tally for 'internet is soul-sucking.'

but i'm doing the errands anyway. cause i NEED movies food!

in other news, i'm all depressed which has made me tired all the time, as i haven't scrupled to tell my mother, but i may have finally maxed out the days that i can sleep for twelve hours at a time! that's right! i woke up after a scanty eight hours today. wide awake. leapt up and put in a load of laundry. and now my feet are cold, so i guess i'll finish getting dressed and all.

i hate old navy's j crew-wannabe, cheaply-made, not-long-enough-sleeved, overly-trendy, mini-skirt-manufacturing, slimy republican guts. off to parisian, lerner new york, and express instead. >.> and target and blockbuster because MOVIES!

did i mention i really really liked two weeks notice?

ps: record of each canon snape appearance in gof over at [livejournal.com profile] cimness. page numbers for us paperback edition. ootp (british kids' hardback edition) coming later in the day.

le expedition

did a bunch of errands. i bought dvds-- aotc, star trek nemesis, two weeks notice, and this other hugh grant movie, about a boy, because they had buy two get one free, and i had two i wanted to buy but no third i knew i liked. and then i ran home and sat down and watched... most of the episode of star trek with captain lord captain garth! man, that's some great acting. that guy was into shakespeare, i bet. and shatner's wrestling with himself, and his face in the Chair of Pain Rays! ahahahhaha LOVE. when kirk says he and spock are brothers and garth asks spock and spock rolls his eyes! and says the captain was speaking metaphorically! 'but he is, nonetheless, correct and i DO agree with him.' how much does kirk want to kiss him right then? a lot!

in less pleasant news, nowhere in the mall can i find a simple, classy skirt in khaki or denim--not thin polished cotton, not stretch, not pre-frayed, not micro-mini, not covered with pockets. just a SKIRT. i'm thinking j crew is my only recourse and auuugh i may never get them then, because they're so expensive. ::throws a fit::

how to rig an american election

here.

Imagine if you will that you are a political interest group that wishes to control forevermore the levers of power. Imagine further that you know you are likely to implement a highly unpopular political agenda, and you do not wish to be removed by a ballot driven backlash. ...Imagine for example if you could ...
establish systems of vote counting that effectively prevent anybody on the ground in the election - at a booth or precinct level - from seeing what is happening at a micro-level.

they claim evidence of motive, method, opportunity, and prior conduct. ^.^

sad things

i feel like... like...

this is the worst week i've experienced for a long, long, long, long time. i wonder if it's a negative effect of the medication or if... just a bad week. maybe i'm over-reacting. augh, i don't know anything anymore. but i just can't go around prepared all the time in case a huge staggering tidal wave of noxious filthy sticky depression lands on me/sweeps me away; it isn't possible. and then it happens and... it knocks you over and drowns you.

and i hate suspecting i am incompetent.
