Thanks to perhael, I was inspired to spend last night and today reading a lot of The Daily Show badfic. This is a good thing because I've felt the need to read compulsively the last few days - it's my counterphobic coping mechanism and I'm frustrated with the writing.

And okay, it's a really amazing small fandom. I mean, on the one hand, the entire premise is some really intelligent humour and political commentary, and also some stagegay of course. So where does all the plebefic with no sense of humour come from? Why does a writer with no sense of humour find herself drawn to the show? But that's not the only mystery. There's some really amazing bad. There is clunky dialogue! There is lots of Cheating Bastards, and also Mean Wives Who Divorce Them So They Can Be Together, and also We're Gay for Each Other, Yet That in No Way Diminishes What We Feel for Our Wives either Sexually or Emotionally! There is Anderson Cooper the Magical Negro Magical Gay Man Yenta! There is anguished, platonic nuzzling that stirs Stephen Colbert's soul! There is, in a strange twist that made me wonder if I'd accidentally stumbled into a crossover, Vicodin withdrawal and Vicodin overdose in the same fic! There is mpreg and D/s and bizarre future AUs!

I also found like a couple that weren't bad, but that's much less interesting. And then I ran out again, and now I am badficless.

Not at all. I mean, there are a couple of communities, but I didn't intend to link to them. tds_rps and fakenews_fanfic are the ones I was reading in.
