actually, i've read people bitching about it before. what happens is that nomad says he can't do anything because her memory banks are "wiped clean", but then they're like, "oh well, in that case, if she's not DAMAGED, we can just re-educate her," and they do. there's a little scene of her in a nightgown sounding out sentences like "the dog has a ball. the ball is blue" with nurse chapel, who then tells mccoy that she's on the first-grade reader and making progress. at the end of the episode--you know, like, less than a day later--mccoy tells kirk she is back up to college-level, and should be at work within a week.
