Hahah, yeah. My mom was a serial complainer! She had a reputation in the system before she started working there when I was in middle school. When we first moved down to AL, there were no Montessori schools that they could get me into. I ended up at the local zoned school, but their policy was not to test children for "enrichment" until third grade. However, there was already a math prodigy receiving it at the school, because his prodigy-ness was completely obvious; and both my parents took off work and put on their business suits to demand they give me the testing. Thank goodness. They were later to become quite familiar with the principal when my grade 2 teacher quit mid-year, and was first replaced for about 2 months by an unaccredited substitute who was a parent of a child from the school, and who took me out in the hall to tell me not to say anything about the president if I couldn't say something nice after I told my classmates, following a Weekly Reader article on then-president George Bush, that strings had been pulled to allow him to escape military service and that while he was in command at the CIA the Iran-Contra conflict included soldiers ordered to bury Nicaraguan rebels up to their necks in the sand (besides slaughter and drug-smuggling). She was forced to apologize after that, and was eventually replaced. The reading teacher also received a complaint from my mom when we read a nauseating piece of propaganda about Columbus Day in our textbook and I raised my hand to tell my classmates about the genocide of the Arawak begun by Columbus at his first landing site, and her response was "That's not true!"
