Just wanted to check re: "Spanish Bride"... are you aware that it's a novelisation of the true story of Harry Smith and his wife Juana during the Peninsular Wars? That might put it outside your interests for other reasons, but whatever the subgenre is to which you refer (I didn't realise there was a Spanish brides subgenre), this might not be one of them. To be honest I found it a bit dull on account of all the military detail, and if you know me, you know that's a LOT of military detail.

Also, False Colours is not, AFAIK, heavily military. This review contains a partial plot synopsis.
