Actually I did know that TPB needed fixing. I think I noticed the lack of other female characters first, when I made icons of it ten years ago or something like that... and making icons of Buttercup got me thinking about her character and why it seemed improbable for anybody to identify with her in any way...

It was an odd realization because the movie was a childhood favorite, and Robin Wright has such presence and is so impressive that, especially as a child, I didn't really notice the thinness of the character until I thought about it. There's a lot to the movie even so, but there should be still more.
