Interesting... there's two distinct categories for these in several natural paint shops I've perused - I gather there are other minerals which can make paint besides slaked lime. Auro seems to market clay paint as "high grade clay paint" and chalk/lime paint as varieties of "mineral paint" in the UK (in Finnish these are just called chalk paint and professional chalk paint).
