cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (Default)

so, what's all the hype about?

everyone was talking about the video for 'dirrty' but all we were seeing was icons! and i hadn't seen the video, nor had my darling. i found some clips of it, but they were really small and fuzzy. at last, though, i found these caps from the video to bring new meaning to the word 'tramp.'

1) *eyes fourth picture down* I reiterate my previous statement that that girl looks more like a worn-out middle-aged crack whore every time I see her. How does she look so OLD (and not in a good way) already?

2) I have yet to see the video or even (prior to this post) any non-LJ-icon caps from it, but I remember seeing a clip from an MTV interview with her in which she said something to the effect of, "It shows the more mature side of me, because I'm growing up. And maybe now people will stop classifying me as, like, a *tosses hair indignantly* 'pop princess' or whatever." Riiiight, because Britney CERTAINLY hasn't already done an equally filthy and similarly-shot video involving large groups of sweaty male dancers... oh, wait.

i'm not complaining. she wears a lot of makeup, but she's still pretty, and i don't have a moral problem with sex. (rawr.) she and britney both think they can be taken more seriously if they get more explicit with sex. well, they're probably wrong, but more power to them.

*laughs* It's all good - the song is completely addictive. I think she might want to reconsider her makeup person, though. I was just massively amused by her assertion that this video would help differentiate her from "pop princesses" like Britney, considering the latter's already done something strikingly similar. OWN your pop-yness, Christina! 'Tis nothing to be ashamed of!
