nasty right-wing group's conducting a poll on gay marriage and hopes to skew the results by making sure no pro-marriage people find it.

No kidding?

Gee, someone ought to be visiting their summary page at regular intervals and recording numbers of votes, date and time.

That probably wouldn't be too hard to do, if you had the url. Oh, wait! Here it is!

http://www.afa.net/petitions/SummarizePoll.asp

Just for the record, at 11:35 EST on Dec. 19 the numbers stood at:

Oppose gay marriage/civil unions: 141824 votes, 45.23%
Support gay marriage: 147460 votes, 47.03%
Support civil unions: 24249 votes, 7.73%

Even Better

The same organization has a mail-to-your-reps page, with text already in place, that you're supposed to use to send a message to your senators and reps that you want them to support an amendment defining marriage as male-female. I sent it. But I edited the text first. It's supremely satisfying to send a message urging defeat of such an amendment and support for gay families through AFA's gateway.

Heh heh heh

Remember to change the title, too, to "Defeat" instead of "Support".
