i really love norrington, but jack/norrington annoys me. i can't decide what to do with him that doesn't upset my ot3 or get extremely angsty. (i liked the idea of gillette at first; but on further watching i think gillette is not intelligent enough for him. i'm less sure about groves. but i'm still inclined to think him unworthy.)

If you really can't stand it, I reckon Groves is the best of the lot (but still inherently inferior) - best-looking, most intelligent.

well, probably more intelligent, definitely best-looking, but not necessarily cutest. you can read gillette as puppyish as opposed to officious, if you wish.
