HOLMES/WATSON MANIA

baron gruner in the adventure of the illustrious client (from the case book) is SO jason isaacs.

speaking of, in five minutes i just wrote at least half of a holmes/watson spackle of 'the bruce-partington plans' based on my dvd of the episode and some acting at the top of jeremy brett's form as holmes, and the top of edward hardwicke's as watson.

oh my god, i'm so in love with this fandom! SQUEE!

expect a finished story sometime today. not kidding.

Speaking of, lately, I've been thinking Jason Isaacs would probably make a pretty good Holmes. Great nose, and we know he can act!

you know, that's not bad. i mean, i definitely see it, especially in that shot of him as darling.

but i'd feel i was being unfaithful to jeremy brett. however, if someone were going to film a slashier version, or the episodes brett had no opportunity to do... .

...and Jason would apparently have no problem with the "slashier" provision:

The British mini-seriesDangerous Lady (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006L920/qid%3D1075088105/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/103-0852174-4281433). Be forewarned if you go looking for more screencaps or decide to watch it, the scene doesn't end well.

Full disclosure: I haven't ordered the series or ever seen it. I read somewhere that it's not close-captioned, so that pretty much lowers my comprehension down to 25%. (I have "fuzzy" hearing; I need things clearer, not louder.) It might be worth it for the visuals, but I still thought it was a little pricey.

hmmm. yes, indeed, pricey. well, those images were probably the best part anyway.
