more jewelry babble

huh.

i remember seeing this ring, i am my beloved's and my beloved is mine (hebrew) in signals when i was in middle school and thinking it was really cool and original and whatnot, and yet, it's the bestselling ring at target.com.

there goes that idea.

although i guess i had already decided it was a bit twee anyway.

It's pretty common among Jews that I know (which is of course a totally useful sampling system), although it might appear cool and original if no one you know is Jewish. (I wonder, do myriad Jews shop at Target.com or have the Christians decided that a bit from Song of Songsa is the closest they can reasonably get to "I want you madly?")

well, the song of songs is in the bible, so i'm sure they don't feel unentitled; i'm atheist of jewish descent, but jewish people are not thick on the ground in alabama. i guess one of dad's college roommates was jewish and we don't know anybody else apart from our semi-practicing great aunt and uncle.
