more on that inv-only harry/snape idea

the problem with me doing an invitation-only harry/snape thing would be that i haven't ever actually written any.  maybe i could solve that by also inviting trusted recommenders.  that might be the best solution, in fact.  there seems to be a startlingly quick outpouring of support for the idea, which in itself wasn't unexpected.  i suppose i could start by inviting authors, anyway, if i could find all their livejournals.

livejournals i know:
[livejournal.com profile] auctasinistra
resonant: [livejournal.com profile] resonant8
[livejournal.com profile] dementordelta
[livejournal.com profile] thisveryinstant
telanu: [livejournal.com profile] somniesperus
cybele: [livejournal.com profile] cybele_san
minx: [livejournal.com profile] miraminx
kai, author of 'contemporary magical innovations': [livejournal.com profile] kaiz
[livejournal.com profile] lexin
femme slash: [livejournal.com profile] hp_femme
[livejournal.com profile] tiranog
[livejournal.com profile] predatrix
kass: [livejournal.com profile] kass_rachel
isolde: [livejournal.com profile] cursive
[livejournal.com profile] alchemia and [livejournal.com profile] bugland

livejournals i would like to be directed to, if anybody knows them: tara tory; dolores crane; JiM. well, bummer.

eta: please note this list is preliminary only, based on the stories that leapt immediately to mind and a cursory glance at my recs page.

thanks to [livejournal.com profile] goebtimo, [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o, [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo, [livejournal.com profile] switchknife and [livejournal.com profile] glitterdemon for links.

www.waxjism.org/cimorene/princessa/photoshopcs.zip

when you unzip it, the crack's in a separate folder inside, with directions in a readme.

it's not done uploading. i'll comment again when it is.

gaah, lj ate my comment again.

a couple of questions, when it says to copy the crack files into the installation directory, that just means that those two things go into whatever folder everything dl'ed into, right?

and this version doesn't really go kaput in thirty days?

thanks SO much. *licks you in delight*

it doesn't once you crack it. you install the program, then you copy those files into programs/adobe/photoshop or whatever it installs it to. there will be files with those names already and you want these to overwrite them.

Am voting for the inclusion of Sinope on this list. Her Lj is [livejournal.com profile] eponis.

thus ends my teeny contribution to Snapeslash, haha.

*ducks out*

YES! SINOPE!

[livejournal.com profile] predatrix rounds out your list. Tara Tory isn't on lj and doesn't want to be.

[identity profile] switchknife.livejournal.com 2004-10-04 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
JiM doesn't have an LJ that I know of; neither does Dolores.

I recommend that you add [livejournal.com profile] tradescant to your list.

[identity profile] switchknife.livejournal.com 2004-10-04 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
And [livejournal.com profile] lexin, [livejournal.com profile] bowdlerized, [livejournal.com profile] alchemia, [livejournal.com profile] bugland, [livejournal.com profile] icarusancalion, [livejournal.com profile] cursive, [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo, [livejournal.com profile] nimori and [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1...

Are you interested in having Snape/Harry art on your community as well? In that case, I'd recommend [livejournal.com profile] glockgal, [livejournal.com profile] ponderosa121, [livejournal.com profile] lunulet and [livejournal.com profile] yukipon in particular. :)

i think i've read stories by all those people.

i started with only the authors of stories i considered really outstanding. i think i have some of those others on my recs page, at least, but i'm not sure it's a good idea to invite everybody who's written a good story.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2004-10-04 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
then again, perhaps every writer's writer-ish personality who is generally considered outstanding should be invited regardless of my personal opinion of their work.

i'd better mull over it some more.

[identity profile] switchknife.livejournal.com 2004-10-05 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I didn't mean that you should invite all these authors; I was merely recommending them. :) I guess it depends on one's approach--when I set up [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies, for example, I invited a range of good writers to cater to different tastes, so that the comm didn't just become a place for my favourite fics, but fics that suited other folks too. :)

Nevertheless, it is up to you, and I can see that you would want to limit the authors to those you believe truly deserving of membership. I'll be watching your community anyway! :D :D
