FUCK.  i boiled the little saucepan dry with vestiges of pasta in the water.  >.>  now there are white and black bubbly patterns inside the bottom of it.  uh, this can't be good.

put water and dishes-detergent in ti and boil the whole thing long and slow. add bleach if you have some, or boild it once with washing liquid and a a second with bleach, that's better and less risky (bleach doesn't always like to be mixed with random soap-y stuff) Let it boil well before trying to scrub it, but if you boild it twice like that AND scrub, it should be okay. Scrub carefully and with appropriate stuff if it's a non-stick surface, of course. Or are the bubble the coating *of* the pan that sort of started blowing upwards and unpeeing itself? I've never had that happen o.O

nono, not non-stick, just an ordinary, many-times-burnt pan. thanks. :)

Put a quarter inch or so of vinegar in the pan and heat it to boiling. Dump the vinegar out and (once the pan has cooled a little), the burnt stuff should come right off with a minimum of scrubbing! (I feel like Heloise!)
