hey lilah

what time will you be here this evening, [livejournal.com profile] perhael? maybe i will completely avoid studying for the test. that way we can test my actual swedish capability, with no cramming, right? and even with lots of fiddly mistakes i'm still bound to be close to the top of the class. and then i could write instead. writing hard is the only cure for the whatever-this-is.

i cannot hack mornings lately. an hour of re-reading various f/k by speranza, and i still feel slightly comatose.

and i'm still pissed at my teacher. it rained last night. (a relief. whoever heard of a dry spring? but it restricts my choice of shoes and thus my choice of wardrobe.)

it restricts my choice of shoes and thus my choice of wardrobe Is this the teacher with the plaything again? Perhaps you should invest in pink wellies and a transparent plastic umbrella with ears on it, or something.

pink wellies are, i suppose, a possibility. and yes, that's the one. you know, i don't have an umbrella...

the blue one looks like the monsters from where the wild things are.

He rolls his terrible eyes.

that reminds me how i was trying to introduce my 3yo cousin to classic children's literature and my aunt jenny refused to read him in the night kitchen because it was so "baking centric". they don't eat cooked food, and she doesn't want him to see cooked food (or milk) getting all "glorified".

In my Children's Lit class at uni - because I was such a dosser I took Children's Lit - we saw how In The Night Kitchen got a lot of stick for having Mickey's penis in it. "Baking centric" was not the criticism cited. But now I realise the true evil.

children's lit is cool if only for the illustrations.

and mickey's so cute and chubby! what's wrong with his penis? i will forever treasure the image of him in the jug of milk.
