i downloaded mozilla firefox, and i love it.  i like it even more than opera, actually, except for one TWO thing*S.  it's extra SUPER spiffy with high monitor resolution.  it's sleek and sexy like a sleek sexy car.

i downloaded it just especially for the purpose of downloading apoplexia's animated Cabal icons, but now i use it all the time.  it makes it hard to tear myself away, actualmente.

*in opera, you can save a default startup browser window configuration so your home "page" consists of several sites open at once.  i haven't seen that in mozilla.

AND also no mouse gestures. :

I just downloaded Firefox a few days ago and I am in *love* (and this from a die-hard IE user). I have never liked any of the other Netscape-based browsers for this or that reason, but Firefox has all (two) of the things* I really love in IE while not bringing the suck AND having tabbed browsing.

(1) Hitting "control+enter" inserts "www" and ".com"
(2) The favorites list can display down the side

Tools > Options > General > to set the home page. where it says 'use current page' in the latest evrsion, it used to say more clearly 'use current pages'.

point in fact, if you open the various tabs you want so you have the 'set' you wish to use as your 'home', pressing this button will set the whole series of tabs as 'home'.

you can also simply write all the urls on one line and paste that line in the text area and press okay, that'll work too-- the urls need to be separated with |

an example:

ALSO. my thingie i should make a ppost out of for all those new firefox users: go and dig around in the extensions http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/ - they are little plugins, basically, to download and install on top of firefox. some of them are really neat.
the 3 ones i always install are Deepest Sender (LJ client, useful for not having to log out of semagic for RPG posts purposes, for example, or JF posting, or whatnot), Quicknote (a great blogging help and all purpose note-taking utility omg loff) and Tabbrowser Extensions, which allows you a lot of extra nifty tricks on top of the native tabbed browsing of Firefox.

If you want to make Mozilla as fast as Opera you can twiddle the settings as per here (http://monkeyfilter.com/link.php/3291). Worked like a dream for me.
