cimorene: SGA's Sheppard and McKay, two men standing in an overgrown sunlit field (pastoral)

was it a car or a cat i saw?

okay, so i've spent most of my day today, hours and hours, trying to battle browser bugs for my new css layout.  i got it to function in ie/win (that is, not CORRECTLY, but there are now scrollbars so the content isn't actually hidden)(although, note for anyone who against all reason and logic uses ie:  you can see the rest of the text by using the down arrow when the scrollbar is missing).  i DIDN'T manage to fix the new bug in opera that showed up when, at [livejournal.com profile] isilya's wise suggestion, i switched from using float:left and float:right to giving the left column a fixed width and absolute-positioning the right column a specific distance from the left edge of the page.  both ie and opera are completely off their rockers with the horizontal scrollbars (although opera has at least resized the CONTENT correctly to fit on the screen, and the scrollbar just leads to a pointless white chunk that it has stuck on the right side of the layout).  there's not a flaw in the css--i put it through the w3c css validator as well as going over it with a fine-tooth comb despite the fact that the code is ridiculously simple.  when the container of the page is set to width=100%, that's it.  there's no single element wider than the display and the width is set at 100, so nothing should be sticking out like that.

so i've stopped.  if i ignore the scrollbar, it looks okay in my opera; and as long as the content is available in ie, whatever.  meanwhile, wax made a sugar cake with some kind of melted caramel and nuts on top that's quite good.  oh, and we finally saw pride & prejudice and both loved it.  so now i intend to relax!  although there's no champagne or anything.  just tequila, but no limes or lemons.  well, and kahlua and milk, but after the cake i don't so much feel like having that.

ahhaha. that's okay, but i don't really absorb it properly. comes of not knowing much of anything about them, other than the lead's name. i read a post where you pointed them out once, i just don't remember anymore.

Hahaha, my best friend had a problem too, once. It's pretty easy. Alex is the lead singer, Nick is lead guitar - he's the chiseled-looking one with the blue eyes. Paul is the drummer, he has the pouty mouth and crooked teeth and he is so skinny you could fold him in half and stick him in your back pocket. Bob is the bassist. Bob never sings and he is the trademark stoic one, although lately his stage moves seem to have expanded. Nick sings sometimes - Van Tango, Tell Her Tonight and Get Away. Mostly he does backup. Paul sang once that I can recall - on the German version of Tell Her Tonight. He plays guitar sometimes if Andy takes drums.

Alex and Nick have regular dual guitar sexoffs, where they see who can out-sex the other. Sometimes Alex likes to go down on Bob's bass - I am not even making this up, it happened at the concert I went to.

They like playing it up for the slash fans (they're all quite aware of slash and slash fic. There was an article about it once. Alex doesn't mind, apparently, so, uh, yay!). Once Alex gave a shoutout to the fic community. He is a tease.

HAHA I'M RAMBLING AGAIN.
