the unbearable existential boredom of being

i feel like i'm about to die of boredom, which is a state i've realised has nothing to do, at least for me, with what i actually have to do.  there is no shortage of things to do.  i've started a post; i'm halfway through writing a ficlet; i've got homework, several half-finished books, and plenty of tv and dvds waiting to be watched.  but this doesn't matter!  it's like boredom is some kind of emotion with a completely random existential origin.  like religious ecstasy!  which may actually be because of neurons misfiring or whatever, but then, for that matter, so could boredom be.  i just want it to go away.  or else for someone to show up and entertain me.

the last week i've been going through the entries in the sentinel cliché ficathon from last summer (which has been entertaining in that cheesy sentinel way and also occasionally in that OMGbadfic way) and the prince of tennis recs in [livejournal.com profile] bookshop's journal.  i like the schoolboy thing about as much as i dislike anything to do with sports, but it tends to even out in favour of the slash there, so that's all right.

KIND OF.

I just watched two episodes of a not very good show because they said Justin Kirk would be in it and he wasn't. Because he'll be in it from ep four on. Teaches me to check these things. And now I think I'll go shoot myself in the head because amazingly not even the idea of watching Reunion really appeals to me right now.

Which has nothing to do with anything, but you know. I am bored, hear me gripe.

He was Prior in HBO's Angels in America.

Why do days like this happen, question mark. I'd go outside or something but I don't want to have to wear not-pyjamas.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh he's awesome!

i have to walk the dog >.<. i've been getting dressed for 20 minutes and have put on... socks.

i submit:

"oh no no not another one" is one of the best songs ever

and should be allowed to go on a project runway mix even though it doesn't really have anything to do with it. also, i can pretend it does because uh, people keep getting eliminated.

also, "don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" might be the perfectest quintessential jazz song of all time.

Seriously, Oh No No Not Another One is sort of not really but kind of anyway on my PR playlist. I can go with pretending. It's so. Good.

I'm starting to feel cheered up because you can't really listen to Anything Goes on repeat for long and not be cheered up. Still bored, mind you. But not mind-numbingly so.

And yes, it might.

I think this is my last Prior icon.

I think this is my last Prior icon.

i bet you're lying.

also, i'm pretty sure there are multiple songs named anything goes out there, but i can't actually bring any lines of any of them to the front of my mind.

i wish there was a better filming angle on the LA Peeps Represent with the jackets coming off and stuff because it was really awesome but i doubt there's any way to get a good icon out of it.

Kind of lying. I have this.

And, I'm sure, but there's only one that matters. I have several versions, being crazy, but how about I don't attempt to share them ALL.

Me too. I also wish there was a still photo of Andraé's dash among the pigeons for the same reason.

now i remember--it was on one of my jazz albums that i couldn't find when i was ripping all my music at home before i moved to finland.

yeah, the pigeon caps were kind of sad. all of them turned out kind of inadequate.
