hm. [livejournal.com profile] southpaw526 is responsible for getting me taped due south episodes, and now they're ready to be mailed. whee!

bev and dave are coming back today and then leaving again and everyone knew that except me. i don't understand myself sometimes.

oops. time to run to bev and dave's. my face is clean. isn't that a nice feeling? also i've fixed some slightly bothersome problems with my livejournal layout, and am feeling just generally spiffalicious and accomplished and cool. have coffee icecream. not going to church. newly redecorated bedroom. the joy is endless.

i'm finding my situation with icons so uncomfortable that i want to cry or something. this is just incredibly distressing. i have three i want to upload and none i want to delete. it doesn't help that i know i could look for months without finding something this ridiculous to be upset over. just my luck, you know. happened on it just by chance. >.

everyone should get this song.

good music makes me feel better. maybe i'll take a nap. and read. and write. ::yawn:: i imagine i'll get around to deleting another icon or two later this afternoon.

the jago icon is never going, though. no, never. ::pets it::

my little sister has a whole coterie of best friends. there's the one who moved to texas, the old one, the best friend from church, the best friend from school, the best friend frm aftercare, the new one, the second-or-third-best one.

she's really a little social butterfly. when i was in fourth grade, i had one. also some i was pretty close to from church, but i wouldn't have called anyone else 'best.' and in fifth grade it was a different one.

one of these friends is the kind of cool person you wish your sister would have as a best friend, provided you don't have to be in the room with her too much. she's both a good influence and a know-it-all. more importantly, her family owns a little horse farm in tennessee, so that's where li-chan is for the weak: pony camp. which is more accurately pony-riding-and-swimming-and-weaving-and-crafts-camp, but it's mostly just lillian and rain and her cousins and some of their friends, so it isn't a real camp-camp. no campfires, no tents, no kumbayah.

i will miss her, possibly, by the end of the week. not yet. right now i'm still grinning to myself. also, she seemed very excited.

hm.

ah, the sound of parents yelling at the end of the hall, the hum of the fan and the taste of chocolate chip cookies.

i think i'm going to go back to sleep again.

i remember when i was taking oboe lessons in 8th grade and my teacher--a very hot grad student named 'frank' (but short for 'francisco')--started talking about the colors of sound. that's warmer, that's good, but it's still too yellow, you want a darker, kind of red--i thought he was insane at first, but i'd learned the hard way to trust my oboe teachers, and i eventually started to get what he was talking about. my k'salamander (whose reign is transcendant and fruitful) (gratuitous delany reference, +100 points if you recognize it) talks about thinking in patterns as opposed to in words, which also took me a few months of mulling over to get used to, but i've eventually come to the conclusion that brains are wired--interestingly, with little connections between things that we don't think about or know about. i mean, obviously they must have them, but you wouldn't think people would agree about what shape and density a story was, or what color a sound was. but they do.

that said, there are pictures that i can smell. icons, i mean, of various people.

i'm nearly over being weirded out by this, i think. hope. pretend.

hm.

everyone else has already written the essay on livejournal politics, and summarized it, and read it more times than they care to. my friends list was too long, so i cut it.

the NEW, IMPROVED list of interests no one else shares.

angstmuppets, cloudy sky, culture barriers, expensive paper, fresh salsa, international house coffee, japanese phonetic characters, mismatched antique flatware, moments of epiphany, philosophical reveries, pointless arguing, sheer white linen, softness in the dark, startling color combinations, thematically-oriented stories, and woven grass mats.

more SPAM! this time of the hp variety.

if the real, canonical hp series turns out ron/hermione whenever she finishes it, i'm going to... to... do something really awful. maybe not to the point of defacing my books. pack them up in a box somewhere, possibly.

i've always seen inept foreshadowy clues for harry/hermione. i hope she avoids it entirely, actually, but. maybe i'll write down evidence the next time i go through the series. which will be in september, at least, because i left all my books (british editions, yay) packed up at school except for poa (as certain wickedly alluring people can attest).
