early warnings

i have another exam friday, an oral presentation next thursday and of course, translating from norwegian. there's another exam somewhere in there, but i think it's not until december 11 or something. so i lied about life resuming as normal in the second half of this week.

today my department chair asked me what i studied. *facepalm* this is possibly the first warning sign that i should, i don't know, interact with other people in the department and um. stuff. but then, she's kind of old and vague and i've cut my hair since i took her class. sldl (who co-taught it) still recognises me, at least.

today in café arken they were serving "cauliflower soup with fennel", which was like - a party for my tastebuds. possibly verging on an orgy for them.  i love cauliflower puree soup, but this was awesome. so delicious. if the difference is really all fennel, then how is it possible that i didn't previously realise how brilliant, wonderful and delicious fennel is?

I don't think I'll be sending you the fic. I woke up this morning, looked at it, and literally panicked at the thought of showing it to you. It's that bad, oh god.

wait so does that mean you're not finished, or that you're just going to show it to someone else first/instead? i mean, i don't mind. apparently i couldn't look at it until the weekend now anyway. (i was too worried about the tuesday exam to actually look at my planner and possibly worry about something else at the same time. so... the friday one was a slight shock.)

Well, I think Chiya is looking over it for me tonight and telling me if there's anything majorly wrong with it. In exchange for drabbles, or something. I don't feel comfortable giving it to you anyway with the amount of work you have on at the moment, so I'm tweaking and adding in a few last minute things right now and rereading it. I don't even want to try my luck with asking Ociwen if I could hand it in Saturday, or something.

It was just... the sex that made me dawdle. As in, write drabbles for every single fandom except Prince of Tennis. Ahahaha. This is the worst one, though; the other two deadline-fics are much easier to write and finish.

The one that is the... really unusual pairing (for Tenipuri fandom) that most people wouldn't ask for? (aka. the one I emailed you about?). Yes. It was difficult. I needed a surprise visit to the bar and listening to my flatmates talk about sex before I could manage it. *dies* I would like to say I'm joking, but I'm not.

It'll make a funny story after the reveal, anyway.
