so wax had a spare power source lying around. it's ancient and the screw holes are stripped so it's sort of delicately balanced in place, but it's an acceptable stopgap. whew.

Yay! I'm glad you got it up and running, and that the problem was just the power supply (surges like that have been known to fry motherboards). Between this and isilya getting her domain back from DreamHost, I think the tech gods are on your side this week. Maybe iatewhatnow sent up another prayer.

i know! maybe it's a judgment on me for leaving my computer on all night. maybe i'll stop doing that or something.

of course now we have to find a new method of illegal filesharing. using wax's computer as a server sorta works but has its limitations...
