cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (sad)

I napped for like, four hours last night, and then went to bed early and slept for over twelve hours. Of course I'm still groggy. There's tiny bits of frost on the rooftops and ice on the boardwalk by the river, and the sky's like a bowl full of water that dirty paintbrushes have been washed in, murky and opaque grey. There's no snow on the ground, though. This is the brightest part of the day, and it looks like sunset because of all the clouds. This is the worst time of year. I wish I could fast forward through the month before the Christmas season every year. Also, to satsuma and gingerbread and glögg season.

I'm one of those weird people who actually loves the dark months leading up to and including December. I like the anticipation, and the early Christmas decorations, and buying presents. And the clementines and satsumas, mmmm. I can imagine it'd be a bit of a bummer in Finland, though, with so few hours of daylight. Feel better soon. :)

I love the dark months too! So much so that I dread the coming of spring and the increase in light. I think I have the opposite of seasonal affective disorder.

I hear ya. :( I'm looking forward to Christmas lights and glögg.

The lights always make it better, somehow.
