The fun thing about this article is that it's the second Man returns from the dead, suspected of fraud (because his wife tried to cash in the insurance) story I've seen in the last couple of months.
I decided I wanted to watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles because it has Summer Glau kicking ass. (I watched a vid first, just to make sure I really wanted to see it, and I did.) So last night we watched The Terminator, which I've never seen. Things to remember: 1) I was 2 when it came out; 2) I don't really come from a movie-watching household (and neither of my parents is into silly action flicks). We still have to watch the second one, but then I can catch up on the tv. And okay, I feel the movie was a little misrepresented to me in popular culture. I expected better lighting, and also for Ahnold to be shinier, when in fact there was only a tiny bit of stop-motion animation at the end and a small amount of unconvincing cyborg makeup. Hopefully the second one will be shinier.

I'm glad you'll be able to watch the Chronicles though - the pilot, for a Terminator fan, was really, really great. Continuity ftw and all that. And well, it's about seriously fucked up people, I always enjoy that... Hope you like it. :-)

The Terminator
In many ways, this film informed my nightmares and day-mares for decades to come. It does a fantastic job of creating and holding tension throughout the movie. Alien is the only other movie that comes to mind that is so gripping with so few special effects. (Okay, and Jaws, but that also has a few slow bits.)
Also, Terminator was the first movie where I saw a woman having sex on top. I may have damaged the VHS on that spot, in fact.

I'm liking Sarah Connor Chronicles so far - it's not fantastic, but it's definitely not as bad as I feared it might turn out to be. And who knows, it could get even better, depending on where they decide to go with the storyline.
