being too tired for online shopping is just ridiculous
I had planned to get more heatwave-appropriate clothes this summer, particularly for Wax, whom I've spoiled to the point that she never buys apparel for herself at all anymore. I've bought her a pair of shorts before, but apparently they're too short for her because she needs to avert chub rub to be comfortable. And she only has the one pair, which she's only agreed to wear in public once (this in spite of the several weeks of mid-90s F ~30 C heatwave last summer).
Actually because of the way I packed, all of my shorts that are meant to be worn in public and all the skirts I usually wear in the summer got used as packing material in the kitchen. I don't quite know WHY I thought I wouldn't need them urgently, but I did. So I've been wearing my pajama shorts (actually a pair of Happy Socks men's cotton boxers that I sewed shut and put a new waistband in) all day every day except for when I have to leave the house, but I'm starting to consider wearing them out and about too.
What with all of this going on I haven't had the time or brainpower for either online OR real shopping. And once it occurred to me that I should try some online shopping, of course I can't find the tape measure.
Speaking of online shopping, another thing we have to buy online is an engraved name plate and some number decals for our mailbox, and a house number for our house. Both of those are disproportionately exciting to me, and I should really get over my disappointment that the period and style is wrong for those antique Edwardian-looking enameled metal number plates with serif numbers.
Our house is on the corner and excitingly actually has two addresses, so we could technically have two different ones if we really wanted to piss people off. However, when the land was parceled up in the 1950s, the number was shared with the next-door neighbor on one side (they've got a B after theirs so I guess ours would be A), so it's more practical to use the other street.
