The term "AO3ple" is pretty terrific, at least, and I hope it becomes as popular as it deserves. If it does, this wank will have a positive legacy after all!

...is this for the AO3 userbase, or for the folks who admin/tag-wrangle etc?

Aaaallll the AO3 people are AO3ple. Users, wranglers, readers, kudosers, coders, writers, vidders, abuse staff, bookmarkers... all of us.

I don't know how it'd be done, but that needs to be an icon. :D

Ay-oh-threeple?
I might be too Homestuck for this; my brain insists it should be pronounced "Ah-oh-epple."

Do you pronounce AO3 like that?!

Nope, but I think that's because "OT3" was a thing before AO3 and its pronunciation is clearly derived from "OTP."
(Though I have been known to refer to AO3 as AOOO, generally followed with a werewolf joke...)
The letter in the
middle
of the word is what convinces my brain it's a Homestuck typing quirk, apparently.

That makes sense, like it's a "read this in Leet" flag.
