This is a miniature phalaenopsis orchid, labeled a wild phalaenopsis from the grower. She's been named Neve Campbell after the star of the hilarious 1998 movie Wild Things. Also here you can see the repotting tray, with the nippers for trimming away root rot, and the bags of Finnish-grown sphagnum moss and pine bark that we use for orchid medium.

She's similar to any mini phalaenopsis, in bloom size anyway. The flower spikes are more upright although more dainty, so there were several plants at the nursery that looked significantly larger than the other varieties of mini just from the profusion. Overall she's about half the height of some regular phalaenopsis varieties and about a third as tall as our biggest one, though I don't think we have the absolutely giantest variety out there.

I'm trying to figure out if the two rehab projects I have should be larger or not. Like, is their size... just their size? Is it because they were poorly grown and could totally do better? I'll get some side-by-side comparisons after work today but basically the two rehabs are about half-ish the size of my original phal. Orchid #1 is way bigger than Orchids #2 and #3 and I'm starting to think the other two are just... smaller by nature.
