oh YEAH? kitty
gip for when the claws are really about to come out.
isn't she gorgeous?
to exemplify:
last weekend jenny was starting seeds to germinate in damp paper towels, which she spritzed with purified drinking water because the local tap water is really hard, and gross.
me: because tap water isn't good enough for plants... which usually survive on rain... and groundwater.
jenny: oh, i don't mind the rainwater. that's fine. it's the GROUNDWATER i don't want. because we're going to eat these.
me: ... ??? groundwater=no, rainwater=yes?
jenny: sure.
me: but the rainwater is from bodies of water, and the ground, and plants--evaporated into the atmosphere and then precipitated.
jenny: sure, but clouds MOVE. it might not be the SAME water from around here.
me: ... that's true. clouds move. ::looks for knife with which to stab out eyes::

+rain is often acid; groundwater never is.
+tap water doesn't come from ground water, it comes from bodies of water, which contribute far more directly to rain than the groundwater does.
+the tap water tastes bad because it's 'hard'--trace minerals. like kansas, only worse. it's not harmful to drink.
+eating a pepper from a plant that was watered with contaminated water is HIGHLY unlikely to hurt you. the contaminants generally don't get past the plants. that's the great thing about organic systems. they filter.

of course they also believe cooking kills enzymes in food that your body could otherwise use without having to digest them.
