last weekend jenny was starting seeds to germinate in damp paper towels, which she spritzed with purified drinking water because the local tap water is really hard, and gross.

me: because tap water isn't good enough for plants... which usually survive on rain... and groundwater.
jenny: oh, i don't mind the rainwater. that's fine. it's the GROUNDWATER i don't want. because we're going to eat these.
me: ... ??? groundwater=no, rainwater=yes?
jenny: sure.
me: but the rainwater is from bodies of water, and the ground, and plants--evaporated into the atmosphere and then precipitated.
jenny: sure, but clouds MOVE. it might not be the SAME water from around here.
me: ... that's true. clouds move. ::looks for knife with which to stab out eyes::

well, it's not gross, but yes, it is REALLY dumb. that is, if they ate meat it would be gross, but they're also vegan.
