new yorkers, or people who know something about irish bars:

the bar the characters go to in csi:ny is called "sullivan's."  what kind of music is it going to play?  is it really an irish bar, or is the name more likely the only irish thing about it?  i've never been to any remotely irish bars.

We once had to take shelter in an Irish bar in Majorca, during a big storm. They played nonstop Dido (version:gloomy) and The Cores. A wrist-slitting dance was called for! and a *lot* of whiskey...

er, but I'm sure most Irish bars are nothing like that!

It's a toss-up in NY -- there are a *lot* of Irish bars, and a lot of "Irish" bars. Since the CSI:NY folks seem to hang out there, I'm guessing Sullivan's is actually authentically Irish, since those are the places that attract cop types.

Music...a lot of modern Irish stuff (e.g., the Pogues, Dropkick Murphys, Black Flag) mixed with the occasional contribution from Springsteen or Mellencamp, for no immediately apparent reason.

not that I hang out in a lot of Irish bars or anything.
