swedish and the "sh" sound

the sound that swedish finns pronounce "sh", and which is spelled in a variety of ways (eg stj, sj, kj, sk), is pronounced really adorably by proper swedes, with a little whistly noise, sort of like a cross between a "h" and "s" and "w".

here are some painfully grainy .wav files of lines from swedish songs to illustrate the cuteness for [livejournal.com profile] perhael (and anyone else who's interested).  my server, not yousendit.

"[de]n vackraste av själar" (the most beautiful of souls) - eva dahlgren, from "ängeln i rummet" (the angel in the room)
"vem tänder stjärnorna" (who kindles the stars) - eva dahlgren, from "vem tänder stjärnorna"
"hål i min kevlarsjäl" (hole in my kevlar soul) - kent, from "kevlarsjäl"
"ammunitionen tog slut" (the ammunition ran out) - kent, from "sundance kid"

hm, maybe the swedish characters in the filenames. the quiet is inherent i think, although turning way up the volume in sound recorder and the system tray made them easily discernable for me.
