more jewelry babble

huh.

i remember seeing this ring, i am my beloved's and my beloved is mine (hebrew) in signals when i was in middle school and thinking it was really cool and original and whatnot, and yet, it's the bestselling ring at target.com.

there goes that idea.

although i guess i had already decided it was a bit twee anyway.

rings, rings

this celtic jewelry is generally really cool and gorgeous, especially this modern celtic ring ('knotwork and swirl'). also i ♥ claddaghs, as i keep forgetting i've already told [livejournal.com profile] hollsk (and in my excitement telling her again). [eta that i'd never heard of claddaghs until [livejournal.com profile] fayemeadows got one a couple of years ago, but she linked to stories about them and i immediately realized they were really cool. they can be worn different ways to symbolize one's, er, romantic status, and an explanation is here.]

but i think what i like the best are narrow plain silver bands, so when i have money what i'm probably going to order is this, skanky as the web interface is.

in terms of things to do

+i haven't gotten any writing done this weekend. we haven't turned on the AC and the heat has been making me lethargic. (cim: [eats, walks into living room, stands there trying to decide what to do] perrin: come fix a faaahklift that's bwoken. cim: not right now, roo. i'm too tired. [lies down on the floor])

+i can't get into my email.

+we picked paint but we didn't buy it.

+we went out to the local organic farm. there was no staff there. we played with the animals a bit anyway--scared the chickens, herded a kid back into the pen. the sheep were afraid of us but the goats were quite friendly. the llamas and the cows and the donkey kept their distance.
