Badfic Summaries of the Day

  1. Summary: Gerard is a bitty man, living with his mother in his basement and never leaves the house. Who knows him enough to bring him letters everyday and who’s that desperate to make a bitter man happy? [I'm a bitty man, and I'm also evil, also into caaaats!]

  2. SummaryMpreg. Both of them a parent to 3 children (all boys) and currently Frank(momma) pregnant with the couple fourth child.

  3. Summary: Brendon and Ryan have been lovers in Pompeii for several years, and they're not aware of it yet, but they are living through the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. ["Baby? Oh, I didn't see you behind this mysterious could of smoke in the livingroom. What's up with that, anyway?"]

  4. Summary: "Ryan, I'm pregnant," Sophia confessed. Ryan shot out of his chair only to realize that he had no idea why. He must have looked pretty stupid; just standing there, staring at the girl like she had grown an extra head. Technically, she was growing one in her stomach.

  5. Summary: AU. After years of homophobic remarks finally get to Frank, he decides to do something drastic and attends a seminar which guarantees to turn him straight. At the seminar, he meets Gerard Way, one of the group’s “success” stories. The pair become close and a sticky situation becomes a hell of a lot stickier. [I know this is horrible, but I kind of want to read this one.]

these are seriously amazing. i think i find number three the most--just. like. that sounds like bad sketch comedy, or something.

on the subject of mpreg, ever since i read blood child by octavia butler i find myself with an actual high standard for male pregnancy stories, and it's. it's a little disconcerting in the fannish experience to realize that something cracked out like male pregnancy would be something that i actually do have a good, published comparison.

i'm not sure where i'm going with this, except i tend to enjoy mpreg despite myself, even when it's bad.

There's some good writer out there who can make an excellent story with just about any concept, I believe. So considering the length of time science fiction has been around I'm sure that mpreg isn't the least explored, even. But those extraordinary circumstances aside I never expect anything from the mpreg genre as it exists in fanfiction. Like kidfic as a genre, it's pretty much the opposite of my kink.
