Badfic Summaries of the Day

  1. Summary: Gerard is a bitty man, living with his mother in his basement and never leaves the house. Who knows him enough to bring him letters everyday and who’s that desperate to make a bitter man happy? [I'm a bitty man, and I'm also evil, also into caaaats!]

  2. SummaryMpreg. Both of them a parent to 3 children (all boys) and currently Frank(momma) pregnant with the couple fourth child.

  3. Summary: Brendon and Ryan have been lovers in Pompeii for several years, and they're not aware of it yet, but they are living through the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. ["Baby? Oh, I didn't see you behind this mysterious could of smoke in the livingroom. What's up with that, anyway?"]

  4. Summary: "Ryan, I'm pregnant," Sophia confessed. Ryan shot out of his chair only to realize that he had no idea why. He must have looked pretty stupid; just standing there, staring at the girl like she had grown an extra head. Technically, she was growing one in her stomach.

  5. Summary: AU. After years of homophobic remarks finally get to Frank, he decides to do something drastic and attends a seminar which guarantees to turn him straight. At the seminar, he meets Gerard Way, one of the group’s “success” stories. The pair become close and a sticky situation becomes a hell of a lot stickier. [I know this is horrible, but I kind of want to read this one.]

What's a bitty man?

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Frank is bittier than Gerard, actually. Gerard is pretty wee though. (Now I have this goddamned country song stuck in my head: "Well it's all riiiiiight to be little-bitty!")

[identity profile] sinden.livejournal.com 2007-07-12 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
oh, see, that's were I was confused. I was thinking it was a horrendous typo and was meant to be bitter. ;)

[identity profile] sinden.livejournal.com 2007-07-12 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. That's why I was so confused.

*cries crystalline tears of horror from azure-through-storm-cloud coloured eyes*

ow, my brain

[identity profile] sinden.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You realise that after the tears you should probably go and do some secret cutting as well. Just be on the safe side.

I totally want to read number 5 too. I also want to write an AU where Gerard is the lead singer in a band called the Bitty men.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't Frank be the lead though?

[identity profile] futureperfect.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
He can mumble! Or possibly bark like a dog, depending on which of his previous/current music projects it's going to sound like. Win!

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Pete can scream backup! It'll be just like a bad crossover fic!

[identity profile] hollsh.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know which one of these sounds the worst. I think maybe 2...yes. 2.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think #2 too. It's the complete lack of grammar that does it...

[identity profile] futureperfect.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Love and Volcanoes. I hope that's what #3 is called. Seriously.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I know I'm going to call it that from now on.

[identity profile] hollsh.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Love Amongst Magma would be a better title.

[identity profile] futureperfect.livejournal.com 2007-07-12 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Heart of Stone Pumice?

[identity profile] anglepoiselamp.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
*splorfle* I have a strange urge to read #3.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I was put off when I saw how many chapters it had. Eesh.

[identity profile] kegom.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Number 2 sounds like that kind of tricky questions that you sometimes get in the newspapers: "Mr and Mrs X have three daughters, A, B and C. Each of the girls has one brother. How many sons do Mr and Mrs X have?"

Number 4 makes me think of the X-files, the one episode where the Circus-guy had his more-or-less siamese twin stuck into his belly.

And 5... how many guesses do I have for what kind of "sticky" situation that is?

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, #4 is just gross. Stomach! Wrong place!

Technically, she was growing one in her stomach.

i have no clue what fandom this is, but i'm enjoying these. 5 sounds like something i'd actually click on. 3, maybe. 2, hell no.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried, actually. I think the journal was deleted or flocked now or something like that. I definitely wanted to read it.

The bands represented in these particular summaries are My Chemical Romance and Panic! At The Disco.

these are seriously amazing. i think i find number three the most--just. like. that sounds like bad sketch comedy, or something.

on the subject of mpreg, ever since i read blood child by octavia butler i find myself with an actual high standard for male pregnancy stories, and it's. it's a little disconcerting in the fannish experience to realize that something cracked out like male pregnancy would be something that i actually do have a good, published comparison.

i'm not sure where i'm going with this, except i tend to enjoy mpreg despite myself, even when it's bad.

[identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
There's some good writer out there who can make an excellent story with just about any concept, I believe. So considering the length of time science fiction has been around I'm sure that mpreg isn't the least explored, even. But those extraordinary circumstances aside I never expect anything from the mpreg genre as it exists in fanfiction. Like kidfic as a genre, it's pretty much the opposite of my kink.
