revelatory squishy alpaca spøt-socks

I don't really like making socks, and I wanted to try a toe-up heel flap construction this time and got confused and forgot which pattern I was using halfway through, so these took more than a week to finish, ugh.

But I put them on right away, and they're even softer than anticipated, I never want to have to wear any other lounge socks, I want 10 more pairs, etc etc. I tried to emote about it to Wax, but I don't think she feels the urgency of the sock quality increase because she just keeps staring with :|-face and saying things like "I'm not surprised at all. I would always expect good wool socks to feel better" with absolutely flat affect, which almost seems like she's being sarcastic, but she isn't. It's making it hard to celebrate though. Maybe I'll drink a toast to them or something tomorrow.

Toe-up heel flap is great in theory, but this pair turned out kind of baggy through the heel. Comfortably so, but if I wanted to wear them in shoes that would be inconvenient, so I guess I have to try another variant of toe-up heels next time. Also I have to find a simple pattern repeat lace or rib.

What heels have you tried?
I keep going back to the Fleegle heel, since I am very long from front of ankle to point of heel. If you don't need a full gusset, you might be happy with an afterthought heel or a sweet tomato heel. (I like knitting afterthought heels, I wish they fit me.)
