movies with gary oldman

i have a feeling blockbuster isn't going to have a lot of these movies.

maybe i should just get rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead again.

or maybe not, cause mom might kill me.

(would you believe they didn't have reservoir dogs (has tim roth)? or battlestar galactica (wax said was cool)? )

i burned five cds last night. maybe now i'm ready to go to texas.

saw a french romantic comedy, jet lag with juliette binoche and jean reno. really cute. and sweet. faltered only toward the end. i find the word 'love' a little hard to stomach sometimes, not because i don't believe in it but because i regard a declaration as a really big thing. anyway.

my mom thought jean reno was gerard depardieu. 'getting a little old, isn't he?' she said. ahahah.

always on the lookout for great t-shirts

i'm feeling sort of slow today.

it's really sad when 'fish' doesn't make me think of 'finding nemo' doesn't make me think 'sex' anymore. maybe i should watch it again, and then ponder more fishy slash.

lalala. i got this comment today: I...uh...I have no IDEA what to say about the gay fish sex, except...gay fish sex! Wow! You sure wrote some gay fish sex there.

wouldn't YOU SURE WROTE SOME GAY FISH SIX THERE make a great t-shirt?

waaaaaaaaaaiit, beyoncé is now tied with norah jones, lauryn hill and alicia keys for most grammys for a female artist?

does anyone else think this is bizarre/wrong?

mithril awards

we all remember what a fucking joke the mithril awards were last year. but they're pimping them left and right, such as here in [livejournal.com profile] gimlikins.

someone should go to every community where they've posted and make a post alerting everyone to the quite legitimate complaints that the real members of the fandom had with them.

potc parody rec

an amusing parody of the first scene of pirates of the caribbean: pirates of the caribbean: curse of the cursed pirate merchandise, by [livejournal.com profile] vampiresbite.

Gibbs: She was complaining about the length of pirate songs. Bad luck to be complaining about the length of pirate songs, mark my words.

(Norrington pulls out a clipboard and flips through the pages until he reaches a checklist labelled Gibbs — Bad Luck, he checks off Pirate Songs, Complaining)

Norrington: consider them marked.

the shakespeare category at fanfiction.net is a cold and barren place. well, if by 'barren' you mean 'devoid of good fanfiction' and by 'cold' you mean 'rather disturbing in authors' notes and names and titles.' which i do.

i imagine much of it is like that.

what drives us to seek out bad fanfiction? and what drives people who can't write to attempt really difficult pastiches like shakespeare?

listening to the radio has scary side-effects. you get those really shitty songs stuck in your head and then they play on endless repeat. the tireder you get, the shorter the segments: in this case, we're down from the whole chorus of some song i hate to just 'and i dream about you all the time' over and over, like a broken record.

my eyes are burning. oops.

dad, that wimp, didn't want to stay up to watch dogma.
