we all remember what a fucking joke the mithril awards were last year. but they're pimping them left and right, such as here in gimlikins.

someone should go to every community where they've posted and make a post alerting everyone to the quite legitimate complaints that the real members of the fandom had with them.

I just got email from them. They're recruiting judges. Maybe I should have said yes; I couldn't possibly do a worse job of it than the ones last year.

no, i meant, what if you signed up and tried, but then it was otherwise full of idiots and ignoramuses, and the awards still went to a lot of dirtbags, toe-pickers, morons, and people without talent? and then you were known, as like, 'That Bitch Who Complained About Them and Then Joined Them Anyway And Went Right Along With It. Guess She Was Just Jealous.'

You'd think someone would have stumbled on her fanfiction by now, and the evidence it provides of her qualifications. Last year I had to inform her on tolkien_slash, apropos of the promo for the Mithrils she posted, that no, Henneth Annun (which is the list from which the Mithrils were organised, though there's no formal affiliation) is not a slash list and the Mithrils are not slash awards.
