i don't have a headache, but a kind of malaise that i could feel better about if i DID have a headache. dammit, it's the hot part of the day now. (although oddly enough, the ac seems to be working. i wonder what's wrong with it? i mean, to spontaneously fix itself. that's pretty odd right there.) ...maybe i should go back to bed.

so instead of going back to bed i poke through two more snippets of

oneko_briar's. it's a weird day, sunny but really cool inside, and the thunderstorming cleared off so fast, almost in a snap of the fingers. the dog's nervous, lying under my chair making unexplained whuffing sounds even when i reach down to pet his face. i could quiet him by holding his mouth shut, but am not feeling up to it. sometimes i'd like him to speak english so i could ask what was wrong, but on second thought, i know how he feels. there are days where you're just--discontent, and you don't have anything really to complain about, in so many words, and you don't want to stand up and bay, but you want to lie with your chin on your paws and glower, and whuff every now and then so the universe doesn't forget that you're angry.

i know how he feels. i feel like that a lot, myself--when i don't feel more definitely angry and snappish and depressed. maybe my mood communicates itself to him. it's odd to be a member of a pack when the entirety of the rest of it is one small mostly!beagle with an injured hip. i love him quite a lot, though. attachment to a cat never gives the same feelings. i think he's the most significant thing i have to live for right now, so that's good too, i guess.

...you know, i'm rather surprised that it's hard to find good weasley twincest.
