cimorenewell, so, mom bought bridget jones's diary. it was as if she'd read my mind! (except she didn't buy clueless. pity.) so we have it on dvd and i watched it (only for the second time) and what i hadn't remembered from the first time around is that pride and prejudice really can't be made into such a short story.
it doesn't hang together. it feels as if whole chunks have been left out because, well, they have. there is a bit of watching colin firth, but really if you're a renee zellwegger groupie i'm sure it's much more exciting. and just think that if i'd never watched it again i'd have gone on remembering it as rather dazzling and witty, and a little puzzling, in that hugh grant turns out to be bad when he's so very charming! but once you recognize it as p&p the game's all up.

also there's a bed for me in the two-room suite but daddy's attendant has taken it, which frankly seems a bit odd. i don't suppose she knew we intended for me to sleep here. but so now i'll have to sleep on her inflatable mattress on the floor.
