i believe they were originally intended to be a response to fandom kerfluffles and such. you know... we're ZEN. we don't care about kerfluffles. they're a big fad, and someone (don't know who) made and gave away huge batches of them, and people have been using them for more than a year now. and they annoy me. they try to get zen-like images, usually without knowing much of anything about zen.
