1) What is your favorite death scene (movies and/or tv)? Why?

spock's death in star trek ii--with his hand and kirk's pressed together on opposite sides of the plane of plexi, and his groan--'i am, and always have been, your friend.' it's so moving, so romantic.

2) Name the top three filmed death scenes of all time, in order. (The list doesn't necessarily have to include your favorite.)
+spock's in stii
+boromir's in the fellowship of the ring
+i don't know cause i really don't like death scenes. how bout that mostly-dead in the princess bride? or mufasa's in the lion king.

3) How many times has your favorite character died? Dream sequences can count. Who is it, and how did they die each time?

haha. this is going to bore you, but spock is my favorite character. he has only really died once; but he had a fake death at the beginning of stii in the training sequence. of course when he thought jim was dead in 'amok time' he was arguably going to commit suicide soon after.

4) How do you, as a viewer, feel if a show kills, then resurrects a character? I mean, if someone can't stay in the ground, do you feel it 'cheapens' the emotional impact of their death? Or do you now not get upset if a character dies?

yes. it cheapens the emotional impact. once is all right--after that you know it's possible and the death is just boring. like buffy. YAWN.

5) Death stories - love 'em or hate 'em? Can you give a two sentence reason?

hate them! one word: MELODRAMA. another word? okay: SENTIMENTALITY. ::gag::

although [livejournal.com profile] brancher has an excellent point that [livejournal.com profile] misssunbeam's 'always' and '...and forever' (deathbed fisting, necrophilia) are brilliant. this has far more to do with sunbeam, however, than with the subject matter. (miss sunbeam's heap o' trek smut)
