tried and failed twice in a row to go to dinner. slept half an hour instead. wtf? i slept ten hours last night. how is it that i am tired? then went. consumed kung pao chicken, toast with too much butter, and frosted flakes. now have more of The Perfect Desert, ie raspberry froz yogurt/chocolate sprinkles/golden grahams. [note to stomach: behave OR ELSE.]

Sometimes when I sleep for an unusually long time, I end up being more tired then if I'd only slept for, say, 8 hours.

Not that I explained anything, but that's my guess.

I think perhaps I remember reading about a study undertaken at the Hoffenzimmergeschulebiten. I can't seem to locate the abstract but it dealt with the sleep cycles of western white lab rats. The study concluded that sleep was indeed addictive with a marked increase in the tolerance level. At some critical point, 94% of the animals slept themselves to death. The study group concluded that although sleep in and of itself was not a carcinogin it nonetheless brought on sudden and irreversable demise. Be careful!
