Date: 6 Mar 2005 08:17 pm (UTC)omg he is such a woobie.being a tough bastard AND being rather enlightened though. he's a tough bastard who isn't at all homophobic. he's totally comfortable finding tim one of the, like, two sexiest people he's ever been in contact with.they made big impressions on each other back then even though they didn't ACTUALLY become really close. neither of them had encountered in person another actor as talented as themselves, let alone someone they had so much in common with. and they have a similar kind of approach to acting, and these styles that jive so well together. it was kind of weird for them to meet that way. and they both had Ambitions too.
so even though that was a wee thing and gary's done TONS of things since then and worked with many other actors, and many of them very brilliant, and even though he and tim haven't been in touch, and were never exactly mates--
--gary still thought about him up until the time of rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead fairly frequently. for gary, the first time of watching another character actor shrug into a really extreme role was powerful, sort of like the first time of having sex in terms of strength, but more like watching someone else have sex in terms of what it was like--intimate. he felt like he was seeing something he wasn't supposed to see.
