recipe for contentment

cimoreneyou know what i realized? that yesterday's birthday was the best birthday i've had in years.
i bustled about all afternoon, humming to myself and feeling competent like my mom while fixing food, even though i didn't do such a great job. wax was asleep in the bedroom and it was all cosy. then mybitches slasha buddies came over, ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
anglepoiselamp, shiroi_chi and mace_m. we stuffed ourselves on lukewarm leftovers and maija's delicious cookies and an entire packet of vispgrädde*, watched king arthur (the extended version) without the sad ending but with much slash commentary and references to the ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
m15m version. then we watched e's copy of the professional/león, and e and k and i frightened maija with our 'gary gary gary!'-type comments, when she is a jean reno fangirl. i drank a mug of warm wassail and read the pros slash until pleasantly sleepy, then collapsed into bed and buried my nose in wax_jism's shoulder.
