yay look! i've found more horrible mac/danny!  so bad my fingernail gouged a painful dent in my jaw while reading it and i didn't even notice.

yeah, and then... i don't even know how to say this.  i found a really good one at fanfiction.net.  i didn't even know it was possible for really good stories to exist there.  but nonetheless!  yeah.  i don't know what to make of it, except there should perhaps be some kind of religous sanctification for this event (although naturally, in a totally atheist way). i was rendered temporarily speechless by disbelieving braincramp.  i'd probably react that way to a heavenly visitation too.

there's stella pov, there's humour, snark, stella and danny interaction (!) and all these angry conversations.  and slash, albeit angst and UST.  it all fits in a lovely way with the show, and manages to seem to address all the issues that have come up.

gas food lodging by stellaluna ([livejournal.com profile] stellaluna_).  stella pov; stella and danny; mac/danny ust, angst.  stella and danny have multiple conversations on the interstate.  excellent, brilliantly done in a variety of ways; great dialogue, mood and pacing, particularly.  deals with events of tanglewood and references some other episodes.

i got back from the party quite late, huh? :sigh: no writing.

...is that a "squee" hand gesture you're making there?

I am gobsmacked and flattered and thank you. :-) "Gas Food Lodging" is probably the story of mine that came out closest to the way I wanted it to turn out. And I love Mac/Danny--just wish that there was more of it.

i agree it's the best. the "ten-cent" and "only real boy in new york" series were strikingly good too, but not as top-of-form.

i know it can be hard to deal with effusive praise even if it's pleasing. i apologise for that. it's much easier to squee.

i want to ask you where you got the happy pills thing? i mean, is there a mention in canon that i missed?

waaaaaaah! you deleted my beloved gary though!

yeah, squeeing does do that. at the slasha party last night some of the helsinki girls kept calling my and chi's sounds "slasher noises".

Oh no, squee is good. :-) I was gobsmacked in a good way. But I do start blushing like a tomato.

The happy pills things was from a conversation I was having with another CSI:NY-watching friend, re: Mac's sudden cheer during the dog show episode and after. His sudden perkiness had no in-show explanation, so we came up with the "happy pill" solution. It was either that or pod people.

hunh, it seemed more... i mean, i think they emphasised it on purpose, but i don't think it's THAT inexplicable. i believe they want to show him making a deliberate effort to loosen up, perhaps. in fact, i kind of fear they were trying to imply that the dog show sort of reminded him of happier times and he rediscovered his inner child, but i take it as my prerogative to ignore bad writing on the part of the show's writers whenever possible.
